Based on the first day of Bihar STET exam held on 19th May 2024, as per the reactions of the candidates and experts, the level of the exam was moderate.

Subject-wise analysis:

Social Sciences:

Part 1 (Topic related): Questions were simple and straightforward, most of which were based on NCERT syllabus.
Part 2 (Pedagogy and other skills): Questions were related to educational psychology, teaching methods and evaluation system.

Mathematic:

More questions were asked from subjects like Geometry, Mean, Median and Mode, Trigonometry and Statistics.

Science:

Equal number of questions were asked from Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

Logical Argumentation:

Questions were asked from topics like mirror reflection, alphabetical series and blood relations.
Overall, well prepared candidates should not face any difficulty in cracking the exam.

Some important points:

• There was no negative marking in the exam.
• One mark was allotted to each question.
• The exam was conducted offline.
• Candidates are advised to wait for the release of the official answer key and then calculate their estimated marks.
• For more details, candidates can visit the official website of Bihar School Education Board (BSEB).

This review is based only on the responses given by the candidates and experts. The official paper analysis will be released by BSEB. Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has made some important changes in Bihar Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test (STET), which will be applicable from 2024.

Change in Exam Pattern:

• There will be two papers: There will be two different papers now compared to earlier.
• Paper I: Secondary Level Teacher Eligibility Test for Classes 9 and 10.
• Paper II: Higher Secondary Level Teacher Eligibility Test for Classes 11 and 12.
• Duration of Examination: Both the papers will be of 2.5 hours.
• Question Type: All questions will be objective type and will be multiple choice (MCQs).
• Marking Scheme: 1 mark will be assigned for each question.

Changes in eligibility:

Educational Qualification: Candidates must have Graduation or equivalent degree in relevant subject.
Experience: Additional marks will be awarded to experienced teachers.

Other important changes:

Online Application: Candidates now have to apply through online mode.
Exam Center Allotment: This process will also be online.
E-Admit Card: Candidates have to download e-Admit Card.

Impact of these changes on candidates:

Difficult Exam: The exam may be more challenging due to two papers and less time.
More Preparation: Candidates will need to do more preparation.
Benefit to experienced teachers: Experienced teachers will get the benefit of additional marks.
