Ctet Exam New Rules 2024

Important changes are being made in the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) from 2025. These changes will be of utmost importance to the exam format and the candidates.

Ctet Exam Pattern

One paper instead of two papers: Where earlier there were two papers (Child Development and Pedagogy, and Languages and Pedagogy), there will now be a single paper which will include questions from both the subjects. The duration of the exam has been increased from 2 hours 30 minutes to 3 hours. Now the paper will have 200 questions instead of 150 questions. Each question will carry 1 mark, and there will be no negative marking.

Now B.Ed degree will not be mandatory. Candidates with 4 years undergraduate degree will also be able to appear for the exam. Candidates with more than 2 years of teaching experience will get 20 additional marks. Now applications for CTET exam will be accepted online only. Instead of offline examination, the assessment of CTET exam will now be done electronically.

Tough competition:

These new changes will provide an opportunity to more candidates to take the CTET exam, especially those who have not been able to do B.Ed. Increase in the number of questions and extra marks for experienced candidates may make the exam more competitive. The new curriculum and evaluation system will help in preparing teachers better.

The changes made in CTET exam are extremely important for the candidates who aspire to become a teacher. Keeping these changes in mind, candidates will have to change their preparation strategy.
