Application Fee:
- For General and OBC candidates: ₹1000 for Paper I or II, and ₹1200 for both papers.
- For SC/ST and PWD candidates: ₹500 for Paper I or II, and ₹600 for both papers.

CTET consists of two papers – Paper I (Primary level, for classes 1-5) and Paper II (Upper primary level, for classes 6-8). Each paper consists of 150 multiple choice questions, each question carrying 1 mark, and there is no negative marking.
- Primary level (classes 1-5): Candidates must have 50% marks in class 12 and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
- Upper Primary Level (Class 6-8): Candidates must have a graduation degree and 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education or B.Ed degree.
